Streaky Bay Foreshore Tourist Park’s location makes it an ideal stop-over for those travelling across the Nullarbor, or if you just want to get away, relax and enjoy the magnificent coastal scenery.

We are an ideal base to travel down to Australia’s only permanent sea-lion colony at Point Labatt. Travelling via the scenic Westall Way Tourist Drive featuring pristine sandhills, cliffs with breathtaking sea views, rock pools, excellent fishing, swimming and surfing.

On the return trip, stop off at Murphy’s haystacks, which are huge granite Inselbergs, located in the middle of a wheat field.

Streaky Bay is renown for its year round fishing and is home of the prized King George Whiting and Snapper species. You can also be assured of plenty of Blue Swimmer Crabs in summer and early Autumn, from the bay or the jetty. Razor fish also are plentiful in the shallows all year round.

Around the town you will find picnic and BBQ facilities along the foreshore and at Lions Pioneer Park. Browse the National Trust and restored engine museums that detail a past era in farming. Why not hire one of our mountain bikes and take in the sights of the walking/bike trail that follows the coastline for approximately 5 kilometres.

There is a playground and shelters at Doctors Beach. Fishing and crabbing from the jetty, a community school and town jetty pools for swimming.

A short 8 kilometre drive around our pristine coastline will land you at a unique operational land based abalone farm, housing over one million small marine mammals. Informative guided tours can be arranged providing an insight and understanding of these delicate creatures, their spawning patterns and the life cycles on a working aquaculture farm.

Tours are also available to the local fish processing plant. Both these premises form part of the Seafood and Aquaculture Trail featured on the Eyre Peninsula.

Streaky Bay is also the home to many oyster farms so you can always be assured of a feed of fresh local oysters when in season.
